I'm not a fan of books for design ideas and planning. They outdate far too quickly. I'd much rather sit down with a pile of recent magazines. Kitchen design magazines are published on a regular basis and are less expensive than books.
The design magazines show new trends in materials, layouts, color palettes, appliances and anything else you might think to put in a kitchen.
One of my favorite parts of the magazines is the ads. Books do not have current ads of cool new gadgets. This is where I find so much of the new technology and innovations in appliances, fixtures, lighting...
